About MTPA 

MTPA is an organization of professionals who are responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting computer, network, audio visual, and communication technologies to meetings, conferences, and marketing events. Examples of our members' professions

Our objective is to provide the technological and organizational tools so that:

  • Members can exchange knowledge, expertise, and ideas

  • Independent professionals, contractors, and clients can easily find each other, partner, and collaborate

  • Meeting technology professionals can be introduced and form relationships 

  • Anyone who is interested can learn more about meeting technology
Our long term goals include:
  • Increase the quality of meeting technology products and services by facilitating the exchange of knowledge and encouraging efficiency.  
  • Nurture the adoption of technology that will add value to ,or cut the cost of meetings, confernces, and marketing events. 
      

Membership Benefits 

The organization is brand new.  It is being initiated as an online community and will grow from there. Below is a list of what we currently offer as well as what we plan on, or are considering offering.

Currently Offer

MTPA List - It is an email discussion list. You email a question or comment to the list's email address and it is forwarded to all the members. The discussions are archived on the MTPA group site and can be searched by keyword.

Resume / Portfolio Database - A Web-based database of contractors and freelancers in cities nationwide. 
The database will include such features as:
  • Online resumes', portfolios, and calendars of availability
  • Customer feedback
  • Labor rates

MeetingTech.org Web Portal - A build-out of this site to include:
  • Categorized links to sites and resources
  • Industry news from relevant publications

RFP List Server - An online utility that will allow clients to search for suppliers based on their needs and send them an anonymous request for proposal. The RFP is then emailed to qualified suppliers' .  Rate this benefit (1 being Not at all useful and 5 being Extremely useful)

Directory of Suppliers (for members) - A directory of suppliers who have experience with or cater to the unique needs of a traveling meeting technology professional. Venue / City Guide - A place to look up and share information about doing business in a certain location. It can list such things as where to go for radio rental, electronics, hotels, restaurants, and laundry. Rate this benefit (1 being Not at all useful and 5 being Extremely useful)

Considering Offering in the Future
Web Collaboration Tools - A web based collaboration tool that will allow members and their clients to share floor-plans and documents online (working on them simultaneously.) Rate this benefit (1 being Not at all useful and 5 being Extremely useful)

B2B Barter Exchange - A site where individuals and companies can meet to exchange products and services without exchanging money. Providing services for a member yields barter "dollars" which you can use to "buy" services from any other member.
NOTE: The IRS still gets a piece but you make out by paying for services with sales that you would not normally have had. 		Rate this benefit (1 being Not at all useful and 5 being Extremely useful)
